Liverpool have targeted a Paris Saint-Germain star in what would be a major signing for the Premier League champions.
The Reds have already been active this summer, securing Jeremie Frimpong, Milos Kerkez, Giorgi Mamardashvili, Armin Pecsi, Hugo Ekitike, Florian Wirtz, Will Wright, and Freddie Woodman.
Liverpool have also been strongly linked with Newcastle United forward Alexander Isak, whose club recently rejected a £110 million bid from the Reds.
Several key players have left during this transfer window, including Trent Alexander-Arnold and Luis Diaz. Al Hilal is reportedly close to finalizing a deal for Darwin Nunez, having reached an agreement in principle with the player on August 6. Caoimhin Kelleher and Tyler Morton are other notable departures.
However, Liverpool’s summer transfer activity looks set to continue.
According to French outlet L’Equipe, Liverpool have now set their sights on PSG winger Bradley Barcola to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the 2025/26 Premier League season.
Besides the French international, the champions are also considering a move for Real Madrid’s Rodrygo, who is also linked with Arsenal.
How these pursuits might affect a possible renewed bid for Isak remains unclear, but Liverpool are exploring these options without abandoning their interest in the Newcastle forward.
PSG would demand no less than €100 million (£87.2m) for Barcola. The 22-year-old was part of PSG’s treble-winning squad in 2024/25, contributing 21 goals and 21 assists across 64 games. Primarily a left-winger, Barcola is under contract until 2028 and could be viewed as a replacement for Nunez and Diaz. Despite his talent, Desire Doue and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia currently rank higher in coach Luis Enrique’s selection.
On Barcola’s potential exit, Enrique said in June: “Bradley Barcola’s future? I have no doubt he’ll remain our player. We like that other clubs are interested, but he’s one of the young players we’re counting on. I expect him to play here for many more years, and I believe that’s what he wants too. So, I have no doubts he will stay with us.”
