Michael Owen backs Liverpool as clear Premier League favourites, doubts Man City’s title hopes
Michael Owen believes Liverpool are the strongest contenders to win the Premier League next season, ahead of all other clubs, including Manchester City.
“Liverpool won the title by ten points last season, and that was after easing off in their final four matches,” Owen said. “They could’ve taken it by 20. That’s total dominance.”
He added that with Liverpool likely to improve even further, it will be tough for any team to catch them.
Turning to City, Owen expressed concern over the scale of changes at the club: “They were well off the pace last season, and with so many new signings over the past year, they’re barely recognisable. That kind of transition takes time.”
He also raised doubts about Rodri’s return from an ACL injury, concluding: “No, I don’t think they’ll win the Premier League.”
