Premier League champions Liverpool have demonstrated their ambition this summer by signing Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike, Milos Kerkez, and Jeremie Frimpong.
Recent reports indicate that their transfer activity is not over yet, and they could still add more players to their already impressive squad.
After securing the Premier League title last season under manager Arne Slot, the Reds have proven their quality at the highest level but are eager to build on that success by strengthening their team further.
Their latest target is Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak, who has made it clear that he wants to leave the Magpies this summer.
The Swedish forward is keen to compete for major trophies and aims to join a club regularly challenging for top honors in football.
Transfer expert Lewis Steele recently shared an update on Liverpool’s interest in Isak and the player’s feelings about a potential move to Anfield this summer.
“The latest from Newcastle’s side is that they are anticipating the first bid. They’re worried about it,” Steele said on YouTube.
“I expect that offer will come either this week or next, as we approach the end of July and early August. The transfer window is closing soon, but there’s still enough time to finalize deals.
“I believe Liverpool will make a move for Isak now. I mentioned this a few days ago.”
Much will depend on player departures at Anfield for Liverpool to afford a big-money transfer for the Newcastle striker.
Players like Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez are expected to leave soon, with the funds from their sales likely to be used to secure Isak’s signing.
Will Isak join Liverpool this summer?
“Honestly, it depends largely on Newcastle,” Steele explains.
“It’s still early to say for sure, but I have a strong feeling this deal will at least progress to a formal bid.
“Isak is clearly eager for the move to Liverpool — he really, really wants it.”
All attention now turns to Liverpool, Isak, and Newcastle’s response if the Reds decide to pursue their star striker.
With Isak set on leaving St. James’ Park this summer, Liverpool appear well-positioned to win the race for his signature.
