Liverpool may make two additional signings following the Alexander Isak deal, potentially smashing the transfer window record.

Liverpool could make a stunning double signing if they manage to finalize the transfer of Alexander Isak.

The club has already been active this summer, investing heavily to bring in Jeremie Frimpong, Florian Wirtz, Milos Kerkez, and Hugo Ekitike.

Even after signing forward Ekitike, Liverpool remain keen on Isak, who has told Newcastle United he wants to explore his options during this transfer window.

The hefty fee Isak would command has come into focus, with Liverpool reportedly being his preferred destination.

The reigning Premier League champions don’t intend to slow down their spending if they secure Isak’s signature.

According to Sacha Tavolieri, Liverpool are also monitoring Lyon youngster Malick Fofana, who is highly rated by their scouting team.

The Reds plan to pursue Fofana, 20, once Federico Chiesa moves on.

Chiesa, who joined Liverpool last summer, is strongly linked with an exit after a limited role last season.

Once Chiesa leaves, Liverpool will be ready to move for Fofana.

Additionally, Liverpool are tracking Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi, with a long-term interest in the 25-year-old centre-back as a potential replacement for Ibrahima Konate, whose contract expires in June 2026.

Guehi has emerged as one of the Premier League’s top defenders thanks to his performances for Palace.

Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk has praised the club’s summer spending spree, which has totaled nearly £300 million, and expressed his approval of the new signings.

He highlighted how well the new players have adapted both on and off the pitch.

“I don’t think it’s been a bad transfer window with the signings and the money spent,” Van Dijk said. “The club is obviously aiming to strengthen our squad.

“The Premier League is incredibly competitive, so it’s only right we improve too. We have a strong team, but new additions are always a bonus. I’ve been impressed with how they’ve settled in.

“It’s important they show their quality on the pitch, but also settle well off it. I’m sure if you asked them, they’d say they feel very welcomed. They’ve clicked well with the group.

“There are no guarantees with retaining the title or winning trophies, but improving the squad is always positive. Adding quality raises standards in training and matches.”
