Real Madrid ‘offer’ sensational player exchange to land Ibrahima Konaté from Liverpool THIS summer

Real Madrid are reportedly considering a swap deal in an effort to convince Liverpool to part with Ibrahima Konaté this summer.

The 26-year-old defender has been a key figure for Liverpool since arriving from RB Leipzig in 2021, making 132 appearances and establishing a strong partnership with captain Virgil van Dijk.

Recently, speculation has intensified around Konaté’s future as the 2025/26 season approaches. His current contract runs out at the end of the upcoming campaign, and negotiations for a renewal are said to have stalled.

Real Madrid are believed to be eyeing a free transfer for Konaté, much like their acquisition of Trent Alexander-Arnold earlier this summer. However, Liverpool are keen to avoid another high-profile departure without compensation.

To secure a deal this summer, Madrid are reportedly prepared to include a player in the offer. According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, the La Liga champions are exploring options to persuade Liverpool to sell.

Konaté’s strength, defensive awareness, and experience in major matches have made him a target for Madrid. The club is said to be ready to offer €10 million plus attacking midfielder Brahim Díaz in exchange.

Liverpool, meanwhile, have been linked with several possible replacements for Konaté, including Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi. Other names under consideration are Jorrel Hato and Levi Colwill.

In addition, the Reds are reportedly nearing a major signing, with a potential €95 million deal for Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike expected to be finalized soon.
