Liverpool supporters have taken to social media after tracking a flight from the UK, sparking transfer speculation.
Fresh off winning the Premier League last season, Liverpool have been active in the transfer market this summer, bringing in Jeremie Frimpong, Florian Wirtz, and Milos Kerkez.
The club continues to be linked with several high-profile names, including Marc Guehi, Rodrygo, Hugo Ekitike, and Alexander Isak.
On Tuesday, The Athletic’s David Ornstein revealed that Liverpool had made an initial move for Isak, currently at Newcastle United. He posted:
“Liverpool make approach to sign Alexander Isak from Newcastle United.
#LFC say no formal bid + well aware #NUFC stance has always been: not for sale. But communicated interest in deal for 25yo Sweden international worth in region of £120m.”
Shortly after this report, fans noticed a private jet traveling from Merseyside to Innsbruck, Austria—coincidentally where Isak and his Newcastle teammates are training at FC Seefelder Plateau.
This led many Liverpool fans to believe a transfer could be imminent, possibly even a record-breaking one. However, others were quick to dismiss the theory after noting the flight was operated by ‘Tyrol Air Ambulance.’
Some fan reactions included:
“It’s an air ambulance lol.”
“It’s just a coincidence.”
“Maybe he could do part of a medical on it.”
“Ahh of course, Liverpool are gonna give Isak a medical in the air, are they?”
“Our fans are MENTAL.”
As for Isak himself, he has spoken positively about Liverpool in the past. In March, he told The Gazette that he enjoys facing them because of their similar style of play, saying:
“I really enjoy the games against Liverpool… a high-pressing and direct team, which can lead to many counter-opportunities, and that’s the game I like.”
He also praised Anfield, telling Sky Sports:
“Anfield is good, very good. I think their average level is very high in the Premier League.”
