Liverpool fans form their opinions about Federico Chiesa after the first 45 minutes of the pre-season friendly.

Liverpool fans have made up their minds about Federico Chiesa after the first 45 minutes of the club’s pre-season match against Preston North End.

The Reds secured the 24/25 Premier League title, and Arne Slot has already strengthened the squad this summer by signing Florian Wirtz and Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen, with Milos Kerkez also joining early in the transfer window.

With the Premier League kicking off next month, Slot’s team played their first game of the season at Deepdale, where the host club honored the tragic loss of Diogo Jota and his brother Andre Silva.

Liverpool supporters eager to keep Federico Chiesa While several key players like Mo Salah started the match, it was Federico Chiesa who stood out to fans early on.

Chiesa only featured in six Premier League games last season, with just one start, and has been linked with a potential departure from Anfield this summer.

However, after his strong performance against Preston, fans are now keen to see the Italian international remain at the club.

One supporter commented: “We can’t sell Federico Chiesa. Give him another season — we know there’s a talented player there; he just needs fitness and game rhythm. This squad needs his vibrant energy this year.”

Another added: “I’ve liked Chiesa even before he joined us. I hope he stays and gets a real chance this season because when he’s on form, he’s as good as anyone in my opinion.”

A third fan wrote: “We’d be crazy to let Chiesa go — what a player he is.”

What Federico Chiesa has said about his future Chiesa spoke openly about his frustration over limited playing time in an interview with Corriere Dello Sport in May, revealing he plans to consider his options this summer.

“The season is over. But it’s an experience I would gladly repeat. Soon, I’ll sit down with the club, my agent Fali Ramadani, and my family to decide on the best way forward. I wouldn’t mind staying at Liverpool at all,” he said.
