Liverpool are reportedly considering a bold swap deal to secure long-time target Alexander Isak from Newcastle United this summer.
The Swedish striker has delivered top-class performances at St James’ Park, drawing serious attention from both Liverpool and Arsenal.
However, Newcastle are unlikely to part with Isak easily, especially after their recent success, which includes winning silverware and qualifying for the Champions League. They are expected to demand an extremely high fee.
According to the Daily Express, Liverpool might look to include Harvey Elliott in a potential part-exchange deal to make the transfer more viable.
Given that a straight cash deal for Isak—who is valued at around £150 million—may be out of reach, a player-plus-cash approach could be the most practical solution.
Newcastle are said to admire Elliott, and with the 22-year-old yet to fully establish himself as a regular starter at Anfield, he could be open to a move for more consistent game time.
Elliott impressed with the England Under-21s this summer, which could further increase his appeal to clubs like Newcastle.
The Express also suggests Elliott is now expected to leave Liverpool, especially with new manager Arne Slot already having solid midfield options.
Bringing in a striker like Isak could become a top priority for Liverpool, particularly with Darwin Nunez potentially heading for the exit. The Reds have also been linked with Hugo Ekitike as another attacking option.
