Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has reportedly approved the club’s pursuit of Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford.
According to Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, Rashford has now emerged as Barcelona’s main transfer target after they seemingly ended their interest in Liverpool winger Luis Diaz.
Diaz had previously been at the top of Barca’s wishlist, but a deal couldn’t be struck with Liverpool, prompting the Catalan side to shift their attention fully to Rashford.
Plettenberg shared an update on X, stating: “As revealed on July 6, FC Barcelona’s priority is now Marcus Rashford. The club plans to make another push for him and are willing to go all-in. While Luis Diaz was their number one target a few weeks ago, Liverpool turned down the proposal. Rashford is now their top focus. Negotiations are ongoing, and Hansi Flick gave his approval days ago. The 27-year-old winger is expected to leave Manchester United.”
