According to La Gazzetta Dello Sport via West Ham Zone, West Ham United are planning an ambitious double transfer attempt for Liverpool duo Tyler Morton and Harvey Elliott.
Following a disappointing 2024/25 campaign—one that began with promise after a busy summer window but ultimately fell short—West Ham are determined to bolster their squad, particularly in midfield, as they aim for a top-half Premier League finish next season.
After parting ways with Julen Lopetegui and appointing Graham Potter as the new manager, the club is now focused on rejuvenating the team with younger Premier League talent. Both Morton and Elliott, who are 22, have been identified as key targets to help lower the squad’s average age.
West Ham’s current squad is aging, and Potter is keen to bring in fresh legs to build a more dynamic and long-term team. With both Liverpool players struggling for regular game time under new manager Arne Slot—and potentially slipping further down the hierarchy due to incoming transfers—a move away from Anfield could be on the cards.
Although Liverpool aren’t in a hurry to sell Elliott, who has become a valuable squad member, they are reportedly open to offers. The club values him at £40 million if a buy-back clause is included, or £50 million for a full transfer. West Ham view Elliott as a potential replacement for Mohammed Kudus, whose future is uncertain amid reported interest from Tottenham.
Morton, meanwhile, has yet to fully establish himself at the top level and could benefit from a fresh start. A switch to West Ham could offer him the consistent first-team football that seems unlikely at Liverpool at this stage of his career.
