Luis Díaz has reportedly submitted a transfer request amid ongoing speculation about his future at Liverpool.
Despite a strong 2024/25 season—scoring 17 goals and providing 8 assists to help Liverpool secure their 20th top-flight title—the Colombian winger continues to be linked with a move away from Anfield.
Clubs such as Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and several Saudi Arabian teams have shown interest in the 28-year-old. However, Liverpool are said to be reluctant to sell unless a significant offer is made, and Díaz still features in new manager Arne Slot’s plans.
According to Sky Sports Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, Díaz has informed Liverpool of his desire to leave should an appealing offer come in. Bayern Munich’s Max Eberl has reportedly held fresh talks with Díaz’s representatives, but no formal offers or agreements have been made so far.
Amid the links with Barcelona, Spanish outlet AS reports that Díaz’s camp has engaged in preliminary contract discussions with the Catalan club. Due to Barcelona’s ongoing financial issues—highlighted by recent challenges in registering players like Dani Olmo—Díaz is said to have requested a clause ensuring financial compensation if he cannot be registered by August 1.
While he did not push for a release clause like Nico Williams had considered, Díaz reportedly wants to safeguard himself financially in the event that he’s sidelined due to registration issues.
