Liverpool have announced that Harvey Davies has signed a new contract and will spend the 2025/26 season on loan at Crawley Town.
The 20-year-old goalkeeper, who joined the club at Under-9 level, heads into his second straight season in League Two following a successful loan at Crewe Alexandra, where he featured in 32 matches across all competitions last year.
Regarded as one of the standout prospects from Liverpool’s Academy, Davies first appeared in a senior matchday squad during a Champions League tie against RB Leipzig in 2021. Since then, the Liverpool-born keeper has been part of 18 senior squads, gaining valuable experience training with the first team.
James Pearce recently reported that Davies had agreed to a new deal, underlining the club’s belief in his long-term potential.
Liverpool secure Davies’ future with Crawley loan
The loan move is seen as a step to both develop Davies further through regular game time and safeguard his value to the club. The official Liverpool website confirmed:
“Harvey Davies has signed a new contract with Liverpool FC and joined Crawley Town on loan for the forthcoming season.”
His departure comes amid a summer of goalkeeper reshuffles, including Caoimhin Kelleher’s permanent switch to Brentford and the arrival of Armin Pecsi from Hungary as part of a younger goalkeeping rebuild. With Vitezslav Jaros also loaned out to Ajax, the path is opening up for new opportunities within Liverpool’s goalkeeper setup.
Meanwhile, fans continue to await confirmation of Milos Kerkez’s arrival, despite reports that he completed his medical nearly a week ago.
The hope is that another full season of senior football at Crawley will accelerate Davies’ development and position him as a credible future option in Liverpool’s goalkeeping ranks. For now, the emphasis is on consistent playing time in a competitive setting.
