Liverpool have been busy in the summer transfer market, aiming to reinforce various areas of the squad.
The club has already completed the signings of Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz, bolstering both their defense and creative options.
Manager Arne Slot is showing no intention of slowing down, with Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez expected to be the next addition.
After finalizing that deal, Liverpool are set to shift their focus toward acquiring a new striker to spearhead their attack.
Despite an already impressive goal tally last season, the club is eager to enhance their attacking firepower further.
Slot Looking to Bolster Forward Options
Much of Liverpool’s goal-scoring responsibility fell on Mohamed Salah last season, largely due to inconsistent form from Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota.
Arne Slot is determined to address that by targeting one of the most in-demand forwards in world football.
Victor Osimhen has re-emerged as a major transfer target. The prolific Nigerian striker, who has just a year left on his Napoli contract, is available for a €75 million release clause for non-Italian clubs.
He had a phenomenal season, scoring 37 goals in 41 matches and playing a key role in Galatasaray’s domestic double, including the Super Lig title and the Turkish Cup.
“There’s a transfer link between Napoli and Liverpool,” said Valter De Maggio via Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli, as reported by Area Napoli. “Liverpool want Osimhen, and Napoli are sticking to the €75 million clause in his contract.”
Osimhen Poised to Leave Napoli
Napoli are aware that Osimhen is unlikely to stay for the final year of his deal, and the player is reportedly open to a move to the Premier League—making Liverpool a highly attractive option.
If Liverpool succeed in signing him, it would not only add a world-class striker to their ranks but also send a clear message to their rivals that they are aiming to be even more dominant next season.
Osimhen could become the central figure in a refreshed Liverpool attack, joining the likes of Wirtz and the always-reliable Salah.
