Liverpool engaged in a ‘three-player swap deal’ to land Alexander Isak alternative, a move that could seal their status as transfer window champions.

Liverpool are reportedly exploring a sensational ‘three-player swap deal’ in their pursuit of an alternative to Alexander Isak, according to eye-catching reports.

Having already made waves in the transfer market with the signings of Bayer Leverkusen stars Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz—costing £29.5 million and a record £116 million respectively—the Reds remain active as they prepare for the 2025/26 season under Arne Slot, who secured the Premier League title in his debut campaign.

A new striker appears to be a priority for Liverpool, with several forwards on their radar. While Alexander Isak has been mentioned following his outstanding 23-goal season with Newcastle United, the Magpies’ steep asking price makes a deal unlikely.

Instead, Liverpool may shift focus to Victor Osimhen, who impressed during his loan stint at Galatasaray from Napoli, scoring 37 goals in all competitions. The Nigerian striker has attracted interest from Manchester United and Al Hilal—and now Liverpool appear to be monitoring his status as well.

Italian journalist Valter de Maggio reports that Liverpool could offer both Darwin Nunez and Federico Chiesa in exchange for Osimhen. He stated there is a “market link” between Liverpool and Napoli, with the Serie A club refusing to budge on Osimhen’s €75 million (£64m) release clause.

According to De Maggio, Napoli sporting director Giovanni Manna has inquired about both Nunez and Chiesa. Liverpool are said to be open to a direct swap, but Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis is demanding more—insisting on receiving Nunez, Chiesa, and an additional €20 million (£17m) to sanction Osimhen’s departure.

Both Chiesa and Nunez have uncertain futures at Anfield. Chiesa, signed from Juventus, had limited involvement last season, while Nunez has struggled to live up to expectations since his £85 million move in 2022.
