Igor Tudor ruthlessly substitutes Spurs goalkeeper just 17 minutes into the match in one of the harshest moments of the season.

In one of the most embarrassing moments of Tottenham’s season, goalkeeper Antonín Kinský was substituted just 17 minutes into their Champions League Round of 16 clash with Atletico Madrid.

On Tuesday night, Kinský was given his first start since October 2025 after interim manager Igor Tudor made the bold decision to bench Guglielmo Vicario. However, the gamble quickly backfired.

The Czech goalkeeper struggled badly in the opening minutes, committing several costly mistakes that helped Atletico race into a three-goal lead within the first 15 minutes.

Shortly after Julián Álvarez made it 3–0, Kinský was taken off and immediately headed down the tunnel, with Vicario coming on to replace him.

Former England national football team goalkeeper Joe Hart, who was commentating for TNT Sports, admitted he felt “heartbroken” for the young keeper and added that “this Tottenham team is all over the place at the moment.”

Earlier goals from Marcos Llorente, Antoine Griezmann and Álvarez had already put Atletico Madrid firmly in control. The home side extended their lead to 4–0 in the 22nd minute when defender Robin Le Normand found the net.

Tottenham managed to pull one back through Pedro Porro shortly afterward, but the situation remains bleak for Tudor as speculation over his future at the club continues to intensify.
