Tottenham set asking price for key star amid mounting relegation fears after Arsenal defeat

Tottenham Hotspur are said to have slapped a hefty price tag on one of their standout talents following their crushing defeat to Arsenal.

Spurs were outplayed from the opening whistle on Sunday night, as Arsenal stormed to a crucial 4-1 victory that extended their lead at the top of the Premier League to five points ahead of Manchester City.

Eberechi Eze and Viktor Gyokeres both netted braces for the visitors, while Randal Kolo Muani grabbed a consolation goal for the hosts.

The defeat leaves Tottenham just four points clear of 18th-placed West Ham United, dragging them dangerously close to a relegation scrap. Interim manager Igor Tudor now faces a tough run of fixtures against Fulham, Crystal Palace, and Liverpool.

In light of their alarming form, reports suggest Spurs have set an asking price for highly-rated midfielder Lucas Bergvall. Swedish outlet Fotboll Direkt claims the North London club would demand around £57 million for the 20-year-old.

Tottenham beat Barcelona to Bergvall’s signature in 2024 for a reported £8.5 million, and the youngster has since made 71 appearances, scoring twice. His progress has attracted interest from several Premier League sides, including Liverpool, Chelsea, and Aston Villa.

Bergvall isn’t the only Spurs player drawing attention. Defenders Micky van de Ven and Luka Vuskovic have also been linked with potential moves away.

According to Team Talk, Liverpool are monitoring Van de Ven as they weigh up replacements for Ibrahima Konate, who could leave Anfield for free this summer if he fails to sign a new contract. The Reds had previously shown interest in the Dutch defender before his move to Spurs and may reignite their pursuit.

Meanwhile, Vuskovic, currently on loan at Hamburg, is reportedly being tracked by European heavyweights Manchester City, Real Madrid, and Paris Saint-Germain.
