Darwin Núñez’s future away from Liverpool is once again under discussion after reports from Saudi Arabia claimed that Fenerbahce have approached Al-Hilal about signing the striker.

The 26-year-old Uruguay international only left Liverpool in August, but the latest claims suggest his time in Riyadh could be shorter than expected.
The report, credited to Al Riyadh sources on X, is direct in both its message and timing. From Liverpool’s perspective, the striking element is how quickly Núñez is being linked with another move, just months after the club accepted an initial £46 million deal in August — a significant loss on the £85 million paid for him in 2022.
If the Al Riyadh report proves accurate, it would point to Al-Hilal being open to reshaping their attacking options mid-season, especially following the arrival of Karim Benzema earlier this week.

There is also movement in Turkey, with Fenerbahce said to be active late in the transfer window. Reports suggest they are attempting to end Jhon Duran’s loan early, while N’Golo Kanté has already joined from Al-Ittihad.
Núñez himself has given no public indication that he is planning to leave. After Monday’s 0–0 draw with Al-Ahli, the former Benfica forward posted on X that he was “focused and determined in the pursuit of the title,” suggesting a player intent on staying committed.
