£21m offer lined up for Man Utd, Spurs and Newcastle target as Tottenham plan next move after Gallagher.

Head coach Thomas Frank will be looking for improved performances at Tottenham Hotspur after a mixed start to his first season in charge. The Dane joined from Brentford in the summer with high expectations, tasked with guiding the Europa League winners back toward the top end of the Premier League following last season’s 17th-place finish under Ange Postecoglou.

Spurs made a positive start to the campaign, but their form has dipped in recent months, leaving them 14th in the table and eight points off the top four. Although the standings remain tight, climbing past the number of teams between Tottenham and fourth-placed Liverpool would require a strong run of results.

Tottenham received a boost on Monday amid reports that a £35 million agreement has been reached with Atletico Madrid for Conor Gallagher, in what would be a major hijack after Aston Villa had been widely linked with the former Chelsea midfielder. Gallagher is now reported to be undergoing a medical in north London.

Tottenham in transfer race for Serie A defender

According to Caught Offside, Spurs are targeting Sassuolo defender Tarik Muharemovic as a potential January signing. The 22-year-old is attracting interest from Manchester United, Newcastle, Inter Milan and former club Juventus, while RB Leipzig are said to have prepared a bid of €25 million (£21 million) plus bonuses.

Tottenham are among the clubs monitoring Muharemovic, who joined Sassuolo from Juventus Next Gen for around €3 million last summer and has impressed in Serie A this season. Juventus are reported to hold a 50% sell-on clause, which could complicate negotiations, particularly with other Italian clubs involved.

Sassuolo are reluctant to sell during the January window, and CEO Giovanni Carnevali has stated that the club’s valuation will depend on the teams that come forward, adding that there have been contacts but no official offers so far.

Defensive situation at Spurs

Radu Dragusin has recently returned from an ACL injury and continues to be linked with Roma and Napoli, despite earlier reports that Tottenham rejected a loan approach from Roma. Cristian Romero was strongly linked with a move to Atletico Madrid last summer, while Micky van de Ven has been reported as a long-term target for Real Madrid and Liverpool.
