Huge setback for Liverpool as one of their key players could now be sidelined until 2027.

 

 

Liverpool could be without Conor Bradley for far longer than first expected, with fresh claims suggesting his comeback may even be delayed until 2027.

Injury specialist Ben Dinnery believes the Northern Ireland international is facing an extended spell on the sidelines after suffering a serious knee injury in Liverpool’s 0-0 draw away to Arsenal in early January.

Although Liverpool were initially hopeful Bradley could return in time for pre-season, Dinnery says the latest outlook is far more worrying, with recovery potentially stretching deep into 2026 — and possibly into the early months of 2027.

Speaking to Anfield Index, Dinnery explained that the injury involved both ligament and bone damage, and the fact it happened without contact strongly points to a severe ACL issue.

Meanwhile, Liverpool’s right-back options are already dangerously thin. Jeremie Frimpong is also currently out with a groin injury, though he is expected to return within weeks. Joe Gomez is struggling with a hip problem, and Liverpool were unable to land Lutsharel Geertruida late in the window.

As a result, Arne Slot has been forced to use midfielders such as Dominik Szoboszlai in unfamiliar defensive roles.

Liverpool have already confirmed a £60 million move for Rennes defender Jeremy Jacquet for the summer, but he will remain in France for the rest of the season.

With Bradley’s rehabilitation now expected to be long and uncertain, Liverpool may have no choice but to enter the market again this summer for a specialist right-back to avoid being left short.
