On Friday, Fabrizio Romano reported on X that Inter Milan were in “direct club-to-club talks” with Liverpool regarding a potential loan-to-buy deal for Jones, sparking concerns among fans that the squad could shrink further before the window closes. However, when prompted by supporters on social media, Pearce firmly rejected the speculation. He told one fan the reports about the No. 17 were “wide of the mark,” and in another reply labeled the rumours “nonsense,” insisting the Toxteth-born midfielder is “not going anywhere.”

This isn’t the first time Jones has been linked with a January exit. Tottenham Hotspur were reportedly interested earlier in the month, but their pursuit ended after signing Conor Gallagher.
