Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Liverpool have received the “green light” to sign the 29-year-old.

Liverpool have reportedly been cleared to bring Kostas Tsimikas back to Anfield, with Fabrizio Romano confirming that Roma are open to ending the left-back’s loan spell early.

Ben Jacobs revealed on Tuesday that Liverpool were preparing to contact Roma about an early recall, and the move now appears to be edging closer. With Andrew Robertson potentially heading to Tottenham, the Reds are keen to strengthen their options at left-back, a role Tsimikas previously filled as Robertson’s deputy during his time on Merseyside.
This season, Robertson has found himself playing second fiddle to Milos Kerkez, and a switch to Spurs could offer him the regular minutes he’s seeking. That possible departure has accelerated Liverpool’s plans to bring Tsimikas back.

Romano explained that Roma have already given their approval for the Greek international’s return should Robertson complete his move to Tottenham. Although there is no recall clause in the loan agreement, discussions between the clubs have progressed well, putting an early end to Tsimikas’ time in Italy.

The 29-year-old has featured 16 times for Roma this season but now looks set to head back to Liverpool, where he spent five years before joining the Serie A side. His willingness to return highlights his continued commitment to the club and his readiness to provide valuable squad depth.
