However, the arrival of Milos Kerkez in the summer has limited the Scotland international’s game time. Liverpool fans furious over Robertson links

Liverpool’s campaign has already been a frustrating one. Despite heavy investment during the summer, performances have fallen short of expectations, leaving Arne Slot’s side effectively out of the title race. Currently fourth in the table, the Reds are feeling the heat after four straight draws, a run that has raised concerns about slipping further down the standings.

The pressure on Slot has increased, with some supporters questioning his future amid growing fears of missing out on Champions League qualification. As a result, reports from The Athletic on January 23 suggesting that discussions were advancing over a January move for Robertson to Tottenham only added fuel to the fire — particularly given Liverpool’s thin options at left-back.

Tsimikas recall viewed as unavoidable

Should Liverpool opt to sell Robertson mid-season, recalling Konstantinos Tsimikas would be almost inevitable. Heading into the latter stages of the campaign with just one senior left-back would represent a significant gamble, especially with multiple competitions still in play.

Kerkez has struggled to find consistency since his arrival and could benefit from stronger competition. While Tsimikas may not be a long-term answer, his return would provide vital cover until a more permanent solution is pursued in the summer. The Greek defender is currently on loan at Roma, where he has found minutes hard to come by and has largely featured as a substitute.
