Premier League and Wales star carried off on a stretcher and given oxygen following a horrific leg injury, prompting an outpouring of fan reaction.

Tottenham defender Ben Davies sustained a serious leg injury early in Saturday’s London derby against West Ham after sliding in to challenge Hammers captain Jarrod Bowen.
The 32-year-old was left in obvious pain following the incident, which happened around 15 minutes into the contest, although Bowen emerged unscathed. Davies remained on the turf as medical staff attended to him, administering oxygen and stabilising his leg with a brace before carrying him off on a stretcher.
His match was cut short in the 19th minute, with Djed Spence introduced as his replacement.
With Davies’ Spurs contract set to expire at the end of the season, there are growing fears that a lengthy spell on the sidelines could prematurely end his time in north London. The injury also places his international future in doubt, with Wales still needing to qualify for this summer’s World Cup in North America — a target that could now be jeopardised.
Fans quickly flooded social media with messages of sympathy and support after the distressing scenes. One supporter wrote: “Absolutely gutted for Ben Davies. At the time of the injury, Tottenham were trailing 1–0 at the London Stadium, with Crysencio Summerville having scored shortly beforehand via a deflected effort.
Davies has made 10 appearances this season across club and country, contributing two goals and one assist. In the Premier League, he has featured twice, scoring once in 119 minutes, while also making a brief Champions League appearance, playing 22 minutes and helping secure a clean sheet. Despite limited club minutes, he remains an important presence for the Welsh national team.
