‘Yes’ – Fabrizio Romano fuels talk of a ‘big-money’ summer exit for ‘exceptional’ Liverpool target

 

 

Fabrizio Romano has suggested that a winger on Liverpool’s radar is far more likely to leave his club in the summer rather than during the January window. The Reds have been heavily linked with RB Leipzig starlet Yan Diomande in recent months, with German journalist Christian Falk recently insisting that Liverpool should be taken “very, very seriously” in the chase for the 19-year-old.

TEAMtalk reports that the Ivory Coast international – who featured in all five of his nation’s AFCON matches – could cost up to £104m, with Leipzig under no pressure to sell a player contracted until 2030.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano did not name Liverpool directly but made it clear that Diomande’s future is likely to be decided later this year. He explained that while a January move would be difficult, a summer exit is far more realistic, especially as Leipzig raised significant funds last year through sales such as Openda, Sesko and Xavi Simons.

Diomande has been one of Leipzig’s standout performers this season, scoring seven goals and providing four assists in 17 appearances. Beyond the statistics, he has drawn widespread praise for his all-round game. Former DME Academy director Thales Paterson labelled him “nothing short of exceptional,” while current coach Ole Werner has highlighted his dynamism and counter-pressing ability.
