Destiny Udogie delivers a short reaction as Tottenham confirm loan transfer

Manor Solomon has quickly lined up his next move for the remainder of the 2025–26 campaign, sealing a loan switch to Fiorentina. The winger had initially joined Villarreal on loan, but struggled for regular minutes during his time in Spain, which led to speculation over a potential return to Leeds United following his influential role in their 2024–25 promotion push.

Those rumours were ultimately put to rest as Tottenham recalled the Israeli international and approved a fresh loan deal, sending him to Serie A with Fiorentina until the end of the season. The move was officially confirmed on 2 January.

Solomon arrives in Italy facing a stern test, with Fiorentina currently battling in the relegation zone after recording only two league victories. Despite the club’s struggles, he made an encouraging first impression, coming off the bench to help secure a crucial 1–0 win against Cremonese on his debut.

The 25-year-old announced the transfer on Instagram, drawing several responses from teammates and fans alike, including Spurs defender Destiny Udogie, who replied: “Yesss Fratello,” alongside a fire emoji.

Tottenham’s January plans

Solomon’s departure is part of an already eventful January for Tottenham. Brennan Johnson has completed a permanent transfer to Crystal Palace, while highly rated teenager Mason Melia has officially joined the club following a previously agreed deal.

Spurs could still be active before the window shuts. The club continue to be linked with Manchester City winger Savinho, a long-term target who was monitored closely over the summer. With Pep Guardiola reportedly open to allowing the player to leave this month, a deal may appeal to all sides.

However, how busy Tottenham will be in the closing weeks of the window remains to be seen, although further reinforcements are widely anticipated as Thomas Frank looks to arrest a challenging run of results.
