Liverpool set to open Ryan Gravenberch contract talks as next key renewal emerges

 

 

Paul Joyce has revealed that Liverpool are preparing to begin contract talks with Ryan Gravenberch as the club looks to secure his long-term future.

The Dutch midfielder is currently tied down until the summer of 2028, and while no formal negotiations have started yet, there is a clear desire from the Reds to extend his stay at Anfield. Joyce reports that Liverpool are keen to act before Gravenberch enters the final two years of his deal.

Keeping the 21-year-old beyond his current contract would be a smart move, especially with growing interest from Real Madrid. The Spanish giants are also believed to be monitoring Dominik Szoboszlai, another Liverpool midfielder seen as a key part of the club’s future.

Szoboszlai, now 25, is understood to be a priority for Liverpool when it comes to upcoming contract renewals — and for good reason. The Hungarian has arguably been Liverpool’s standout performer this season.

According to FotMob, Gravenberch has been Liverpool’s highest-rated player in the Premier League so far, with Szoboszlai close behind. The former RB Leipzig man has been remarkably consistent, recording a rating below 7/10 just once in his last nine appearances across all competitions.

With both midfielders attracting elite interest, Liverpool appear determined to move early and protect two of their most valuable assets.
