Liverpool set to open Ryan Gravenberch contract discussions as another key renewal emerges

Paul Joyce has revealed that Liverpool are preparing to open contract discussions with Ryan Gravenberch. The Dutch midfielder is currently tied to the club until the summer of 2028.

Alongside Gravenberch, Dominik Szoboszlai is also understood to be on the radar of Europe’s elite clubs, even if only at an early, exploratory stage. However, Liverpool reportedly view the 25-year-old as a key figure and a major priority when it comes to extending contracts.

That stance is fully justified, given Szoboszlai’s outstanding influence this season, where he has arguably been one of Liverpool’s most consistent performers.
There is a strong case for tying down both midfielders long term.

Gravenberch, a former Bayern Munich player, has been Liverpool’s highest-rated performer in the Premier League this campaign according to FotMob statistics, narrowly edging out Szoboszlai.

Szoboszlai has followed closely behind, delivering a series of commanding displays. The ex-RB Leipzig midfielder has recorded a rating below 7/10 just once in his last nine appearances across all competitions, underlining why Liverpool are keen to secure his future sooner rather than later.
