Liverpool set to open contract talks with Ryan Gravenberch as another key deal emerges

 

 

Paul Joyce reports that Liverpool are preparing to hold contract talks with Ryan Gravenberch.

The Dutch midfielder’s current deal runs until the summer of 2028, and the club has not yet formally approached him or his representatives about a potential extension.

“Liverpool are planning to open contract discussions with Ryan Gravenberch,” Joyce wrote in The Times. “No formal talks have taken place so far, but there is a clear desire to secure the Netherlands international’s future, who will have two years remaining on his contract by this summer.”

Extending Gravenberch’s stay at Anfield would be a smart move, especially given reported interest from Real Madrid. Meanwhile, Hungarian international Dominik Szoboszlai is also reportedly on the club’s radar, albeit perhaps less urgently, as European giants monitor him.

It is understood that Szoboszlai, 25, is also a priority for Liverpool in terms of contract renewals—a sensible approach considering the midfielder has arguably been the team’s standout performer this season.

Gravenberch, the former Bayern Munich star, has been Liverpool’s top-performing player in the Premier League this term according to Fotmob. Szoboszlai follows closely, and he is likely to be the club’s next major focus for contract negotiations ahead of the summer.

The former RB Leipzig midfielder has delivered consistently strong performances, failing to score below a 7/10 rating in only one of his last nine appearances across all competitions, per Fotmob statistics.
