Liverpool are poised to outmanoeuvre Inter Milan and Chelsea in the race to sign a €40m-rated South American powerhouse.

 

 

Liverpool are stepping up their pursuit of Club Brugge defender Joel Ordonez and are now edging closer to securing his signature.

Reports from Bolavip claim the Reds have already lodged a bid for the 21-year-old centre-back, with a move to Anfield said to be close. Ordonez is expected to earn in the region of $4 million per year should the deal be completed.

The young defender has impressed both domestically in Belgium and on the European stage, establishing himself as one of the standout talents in his position. With his potential and consistency, he is viewed as a smart long-term investment for Liverpool.

Strengthening at centre-back has become a priority for the Merseyside club, particularly with fears that Ibrahima Konaté could depart on a free transfer when his contract runs out this summer. Ordonez is seen as a possible long-term successor to the Frenchman.

From the player’s perspective, a move to Liverpool would represent a major leap in his career, offering the chance to compete at the very highest level. Inter Milan and Chelsea have also shown interest, although Chelsea are no longer pursuing the deal.
