Jeremie Frimpong highlights a key area where Liverpool fell short against Leeds

“It’s frustrating,” the 25-year-old admitted. “We wanted all three points.”

He acknowledged where the side struggled, adding: “I don’t think we created enough chances.”

Frimpong also took responsibility for his own performance, saying: “We tried and had a few moments, but I think I could have delivered the ball better.”

It was an honest reflection of a match where intent was evident, but execution fell short.

“We just need to keep training and recover,” he said. “We know what we’re capable of.”

“We usually create plenty of chances, so we’re confident.”

That belief mirrors Arne Slot’s faith in Frimpong’s qualities. After the win over Wolves, the Liverpool head coach stressed how vital pace is in the modern game, pointing to Frimpong as a key reason for the club’s summer recruitment.

His speed was again on display against Leeds, even if the final delivery was lacking. It also fits with wider recognition of his athleticism, highlighted by a recent moment when Lois Openda was left momentarily lost for words when Frimpong’s pace was mentioned.

Looking ahead, the bigger picture remains positive.

Liverpool will have a quick chance to respond away at Fulham, and if Frimpong’s mindset is any indication, the focus will be on improvement rather than excuses.
