Liverpool could be set to part ways with a popular fan favourite in the January transfer window, with a major European powerhouse lining up a potential move.

 

 

Juventus are reportedly considering offloading Liverpool forward Federico Chiesa in the January transfer window as they look to bolster their attacking options. Luciano Spalletti has earmarked the 28-year-old Italian as a potential signing, with the player’s previous spell at Juventus making a return an appealing prospect.

Chiesa has found game time hard to come by in the Premier League this season and, at this stage of his career, regular football is increasingly important. A move back to Turin could offer him consistent opportunities, something Juventus would be well placed to provide.

Capable of playing out wide or through the middle, Chiesa’s versatility would add value to Juventus’ forward line, which is in need of greater creativity and goal threat. He could also be available at a relatively affordable price, given he is not viewed as untouchable at Anfield and Liverpool may be willing to negotiate if the right offer arrives.

That said, Liverpool are already short of attacking depth, with Alexander Isak ruled out for several months due to a fracture. Losing another forward midway through the season may not appeal to the Reds, who still regard Chiesa as a useful squad option despite his limited starts. As a result, they could opt to keep him until the campaign concludes.

With Chiesa familiar with Juventus and capable of settling in quickly, the coming weeks should reveal whether a reunion is realistic or if Liverpool decide to retain him until the summer.
