Thomas Frank provides a positive injury update on two crucial Tottenham players ahead of the Brentford showdown.

Thomas Frank will be hoping to record another victory over his former club on Thursday night as Tottenham Hotspur travel to the Gtech Stadium.

In the previous meeting between the two sides, Frank’s team emerged victorious with a 2–0 win at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Richarlison and Xavi Simons were on target as Keith Andrews’ side was beaten.

This time, however, Frank will be without Simons, who is suspended after receiving a red card against Liverpool two gameweeks ago. As a result, the Dane will have to rely on the rest of his squad as Spurs look to build on their recent 1–0 win over Crystal Palace and make it back-to-back league victories.

There was encouraging news on the injury front despite Simons’ absence. Radu Dragusin and Kota Takai both returned to the matchday squad against Crystal Palace, with Dragusin featuring for the first time since January 2025 and Takai included among the substitutes. Cristian Romero is also available again after serving a one-match suspension, strengthening Tottenham’s defensive options ahead of the Brentford encounter.

Concerns remain over Lucas Bergvall, who was forced off with a knock against Palace. He joined Dejan Kulusevski, James Maddison, Dominic Solanke and Destiny Udogie on the list of players unavailable in the previous match.

Speaking through Tottenham’s official channels, Frank offered a positive update on his squad’s fitness. He confirmed that all players involved against Crystal Palace are expected to be available once more. He also revealed that Udogie has returned to the pitch for individual training, while expressing confidence that Bergvall will be fit in time, admitting there is only a slight doubt over the midfielder’s availability.
