Tottenham and Liverpool may be missing as many as 15 players for their Premier League showdown this weekend.

Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool are both set to be missing a number of players when they meet in the Premier League this weekend. Spurs host the reigning champions at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday evening, looking to bounce back from a heavy 3–0 loss to Nottingham Forest last time out.

Pressure has continued to mount on Tottenham head coach Thomas Frank, particularly after the defeat at Forest. Since replacing Ange Postecoglou in the summer, Frank has also had to manage an injury-hit squad.

Liverpool are dealing with similar selection issues, with several first-team players sidelined. In addition, both clubs will be without players who are currently representing their countries at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Here is a rundown of the players who may miss the Tottenham vs Liverpool clash:

Tottenham Hotspur

James Maddison – The midfielder is still rehabbing an ACL injury picked up in the summer and is not expected to return until next year.

Dejan Kulusevski – The Swedish international remains unavailable due to a knee issue, with no confirmed return date.

Destiny Udogie – Although back working with Spurs’ staff after the international break, he is still recovering from a hamstring injury and is unlikely to feature before the New Year.

Dominic Solanke – A foot injury has ruled the striker out for much of the campaign, and he will miss the Liverpool match.

Pape Matar Sarr – Away on international duty with Senegal at AFCON.

Yves Bissouma – Also unavailable, as he is representing Mali at AFCON.

Radu Drăgușin – Continuing his recovery from a knee injury sustained last season.

Kota Takai – Sidelined with a muscle injury and will not be ready in time despite recent progress.

Liverpool

Jeremie Frimpong – Nearing a return after nearly two months out with a hamstring injury.

Joe Gomez – Set to miss the trip to north London due to a muscle problem.

Dominik Szoboszlai – Picked up a knock against Brighton and is a doubt, though he could still feature.

Mohamed Salah – Unavailable for the foreseeable future while on international duty with Egypt at AFCON.

Giovanni Leoni – The summer signing remains out as he continues his recovery from an ACL injury suffered in September.
