Tottenham plan to offer the £26m-rated England star a “prominent role” in their project to secure his signature.

We will face Aston Villa at home in the FA Cup third round 🏆, with the match set for the weekend of 10 January, 2026 🗓️.

Tottenham are reportedly ready to hand a £26m-rated England international a key role in their long-term project as the club look to bolster their attack across the upcoming transfer windows.

Spurs are planning beyond January and are eyeing a major addition for next summer. Reports from El Nacional last month claimed the club secretly met with Marcus Rashford’s camp to explore a possible move to North London at the end of the season.

According to Fichajes, Tottenham have stepped up their pursuit of Rashford, who has caught the eye during his loan spell at Barcelona. The report adds that Thomas Frank’s side are prepared to give him an “immediate leading role” to help convince him to join. Spurs want to refresh their forward line and believe Rashford’s creativity, finishing, and movement make him the perfect fit.

However, they face competition, with several other Premier League clubs expected to join the chase for the England star next summer.

Barcelona have a €30m (£26m) option to buy Rashford permanently, but have not yet made a final decision. While the club are happy with his impact, financial constraints could prevent a deal from happening, leaving his future wide open.

Rashford is also reportedly unsure about remaining at Camp Nou, as he wants guaranteed starts under Hansi Flick and a place among the team’s leaders. With Barcelona focusing on strengthening other positions, a return to England is becoming an increasingly realistic scenario for the Spurs target.
