Liverpool Bring Mohamed Salah Back Into the Squad for Brighton Clash After Talks with Slot

Mohamed Salah is expected to return to Liverpool’s squad for tomorrow’s clash with Brighton after holding positive talks with Arne Slot, according to GMS.

The Egyptian forward stunned the club last weekend when he publicly criticised Slot and senior officials after the 3-3 draw with Leeds United, claiming he had “no relationship” with the manager and accusing the club of “throwing him under the bus.”

Salah was excluded from the squad that travelled to face Inter Milan in the Champions League — a match Liverpool won 1-0 — and is still set to join Egypt for AFCON after the Brighton fixture.

Slot Brings Salah Back Into the Squad

Speaking at his Friday press conference, Slot confirmed he would speak with Salah before deciding whether he would feature.

“I’ll have a conversation with Mo this morning, and that will determine what happens tomorrow,” Slot said.

He added that any further discussion about Salah should happen directly with the player rather than through the media.

It has now been revealed that the 33-year-old will be available for selection against Brighton, though his long-term situation remains unresolved as he prepares to depart for international duty.

Could Salah Still Leave Liverpool in January?

Even with his short-term return, it is unclear how much he will play on Saturday. The club is still expected to hold internal talks about his future beyond this weekend.

Salah’s contract runs until 2027, and Liverpool reportedly hope he stays until then. However, GMS reports that Saudi clubs are ready to make another move in January, while MLS sides have also shown interest.

Liverpool are believed to be assessing potential replacements, with personal terms already agreed with Antoine Semenyo, though nothing is finalised.

Salah remains a club icon — one of the greatest to ever wear the shirt — but the possibility of his Liverpool chapter ending on a sour note still cannot be dismissed.
