Insiders reveal Liverpool have begun laying the groundwork to replace Salah, turning their attention to a Man United-linked attacker with 11 goals and assists.

 

 

Liverpool have begun early groundwork to find a potential successor to Mohamed Salah, and Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola has emerged as a serious option.
Sources first told the Daily Briefing that there is now a real possibility Salah could leave Anfield, prompting Liverpool to step up their scouting of Barcola, as well as other targets like Antoine Semenyo.

The challenge for Liverpool is PSG’s stance — the French giants want to keep Barcola and could even offer him a new contract, despite his current deal running until 2028. Still, insiders believe a deal for the 23-year-old is far from impossible.

Barcola has struggled to secure a guaranteed starting place under Luis Enrique due to the fierce competition in the squad, and he may be open to a move where he’d play a bigger role. Sources indicate he would seriously consider his options, with clubs like Manchester United also monitoring him.

A well-placed industry figure said:
“Liverpool have already started background work on replacing Salah, and Barcola is a player they’ve tracked closely for some time.”

With his pace, creativity, and growing end-product — six goals and five assists for club and country this season — Barcola looks like a talent still approaching his prime.
But replacing Salah’s legendary numbers — 250 goals in 420 games — won’t be straightforward. Even if Barcola arrives, Liverpool will still need increased contributions from attackers like Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz.
