Mo Salah Fuels Liverpool Exit Rumours After a ‘Secret Meeting’ With Former Teammate

 

 

Mohamed Salah travelled to London on Wednesday to meet a former teammate, adding fuel to growing uncertainty around his Liverpool future.

 

The 33-year-old was excluded from Liverpool’s Champions League squad to face Inter Milan, days after giving a remarkable interview about his situation at Anfield. Salah, Liverpool’s third-highest scorer with 250 goals, accused the club of throwing him “under the bus” after being benched for a third straight match in the draw against Leeds, and suggested his relationship with Arne Slot has deteriorated. When asked about a possible January move to the Saudi Pro League, he refused to answer, saying the club would “take it in a different direction.”

 

His future looks increasingly unclear, especially after hinting that Saturday’s game against Brighton could be his final appearance for the club. According to The Telegraph, Saudi sides Al Hilal, Al Nassr, Al Ittihad, Al Ahli and Al Qadsiah are all ready to move for him.

 

Amid intensifying rumours, Salah met ex-Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson on Wednesday for dinner at Scalini in West London. Henderson, who previously played in Saudi Arabia, was seen in a lengthy conversation with Salah, with witnesses saying he appeared to be “answering a lot of questions from Mo,” The Sun reports. Both reportedly entered wearing masks and hats to avoid attention, but onlookers immediately wondered if the meeting signalled Salah’s path to Saudi.

 

Speculation grew further after SPL chief executive Omar Mugharbel confirmed during the World Football Summit in Saudi Arabia that Salah remains a major target for their clubs, saying negotiations would depend on the teams involved.
