A top European club has reached out to a Liverpool star as transfer discussions start to intensify.

AC Milan are lining up a bold attempt to sign Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker, as reported by Sky Sports journalist Sacha Tavolieri.

With Mike Maignan expected to leave at the end of the season — Chelsea are currently favourites to land him — Milan have already made early contact with Alisson’s camp.

Maignan has been crucial for Milan since joining from Lille, but rising Premier League interest means he is now likely to move on, and Chelsea see him as the ideal successor to Robert Sánchez.

Preparing for his departure, Milan’s sporting director Igli Tare has accelerated plans to find a replacement, with Alisson emerging as their top target due to his experience and leadership.

Tavolieri claims initial discussions have been held to assess Alisson’s willingness and the possibility of a deal ahead of the summer window.

At 33, Alisson remains a key figure at Liverpool, having won both the Premier League and Champions League since joining for £67m in 2018.

But with his contract running until 2027, Liverpool may soon face a decision on whether to offer an extension or consider a sale as the squad evolves under Arne Slot.
