Tottenham ready to offer £26m England star a “key role” to secure his signing.

Tottenham are reportedly ready to offer a £26m England international a central role in their plans as they look to strengthen their attack in upcoming transfer windows.

The club is not only focusing on January but also planning a major signing for next summer. According to reports from El Nacional last month, Spurs reportedly held a private meeting with Marcus Rashford’s representatives to explore a potential move to North London at the end of the season.

Fichajes reports that Tottenham have stepped up their interest in Rashford, who has impressed during his loan spell at Barcelona. Thomas Frank’s side are said to be willing to offer him an “immediate leading role” to entice him to join. Spurs see Rashford as the perfect fit to revamp their attacking line, valuing his creativity, goal threat, and movement in the final third.

However, Spurs face competition, as other Premier League clubs are also expected to pursue the England forward when the season concludes.

Barcelona currently hold a €30m (£26m) option to sign Rashford permanently but have yet to make a final decision on his long-term future. While pleased with his performances, financial constraints make a permanent deal uncertain.

Rashford himself is reportedly hesitant to remain at Camp Nou, seeking guaranteed starts under Hansi Flick and a leadership role within the squad. With Barcelona prioritising reinforcements in other areas, a return to England is increasingly seen as a likely destination for the forward.
