Mohamed Salah has claimed that Liverpool have “thrown him under the bus” after Arne Slot dropped him for a third straight match. The Egyptian remained an unused substitute during Liverpool’s 3-3 draw with Leeds United on Saturday night.

Salah was a key figure in Slot’s title-winning squad last season, scoring 29 goals and providing 18 assists in 38 league games. He featured in every match but has already been benched twice in the opening 13 games of this campaign.

Salah’s interview wasn’t the only moment drawing attention. A fan captured footage of him waving to Liverpool’s travelling supporters and tapping the club crest on his coat—actions many saw as a hint that he may be preparing for a departure well before his contract ends in June 2027.
He has two matches left before joining Egypt for the Africa Cup of Nations on December 15, starting with a trip to the San Siro to face Inter Milan on Wednesday, December 9.
