The report adds that Saudi officials believe Salah had previously been close to accepting an offer from them, even though he eventually renewed his contract at Anfield at the end of last season.

Salah remains a Liverpool icon with 250 goals since 2017 and major trophies including two Premier League titles and the Champions League. However, his decline this season—just five goals in 19 appearances—raises questions about whether Liverpool should consider cashing in and targeting a fresher attacking option.
