Two Liverpool Stars Told ‘Their Future at the Club Is Finished’ After Frustrating Draw With Sunderland

Liverpool supporters are now calling for two players to be dropped from the squad after their frustrating 1-1 draw with Sunderland.

The result marked yet another setback for Arne Slot’s side, who have now slipped to 8th place after 14 Premier League fixtures, with points continually slipping away.

Sunderland went ahead through Chemsdine Talbi, whose long-range strike in the 67th minute beat Alisson thanks to a deflection off Virgil van Dijk. Their lead didn’t last long, though, as Florian Wirtz’s effort—also deflected—ended up in the back of the net.

However, Wirtz is still waiting for his first Liverpool goal, with the Premier League later confirming it as a Nordi Mukiele own goal.

While Liverpool fans have become used to leaving disappointed this season, the irritation with certain players continues to grow.

Throughout the match, Ibrahima Konaté found himself under fire once again, especially after recent reports suggested Real Madrid are no longer pursuing him for a free transfer next summer.

One frustrated fan wrote: “Not sure what planet Konaté is on this season—certainly not Earth. All over the place again.”

Another added: “I can’t believe some of the things Konaté is doing out there.”

This comes shortly after the French defender publicly responded to Jamie Carragher’s criticism last week, posting on X:

“We have to take this moment on the chest. Criticism is part of football, and we’ll fight back and come through this storm.”

Konaté wasn’t the only one targeted, as Joe Gomez also received heavy backlash for his display.

One supporter raged: “Joe Gomez is the worst player I’ve ever seen for Liverpool. Embarrassing to watch. Konaté is right behind him.”

Another demanded: “Get Gomez and Konaté off the squad.”

A third even joked: “I’d rather have Salah play right-b

ack than Joe Gomez.”
