Report: Liverpool set to offload “outstanding” star for a cut-price fee this January

Harvey Elliott sealed a summer loan move to Aston Villa, but the switch hasn’t gone as planned. The 22-year-old has struggled to secure a consistent place in Unai Emery’s starting XI, and with his development at a crucial stage, Liverpool are now weighing up an early recall.

 

According to Football Insider, the Reds are ready to cut his loan short in January and offload him permanently. Villa had a £35m obligation-to-buy clause, but Elliott’s limited minutes mean those conditions won’t be met — and keeping him on the bench for the rest of the season makes little sense for either side.

 

Liverpool are reportedly open to selling him for a much lower fee in the winter window, and his next destination will be one to watch. A move abroad could even suit him better.

 

Despite his struggles at Villa Park, Elliott remains a gifted young midfielder with huge potential. Several European clubs are already monitoring him, impressed by flashes of his quality at Liverpool. Comfortable on both wings and in central roles, he can create chances, score goals, and still has plenty of room to grow with the right coaching.
