“Arne Slot Addresses Rumors Surrounding Marc Guehi’s Liverpool Move”

Liverpool manager Arne Slot has addressed questions about a possible January move for Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi. Despite a summer deal for the England international falling through, the Reds reportedly remain keen on signing him.

Slot appears to be in need of defensive reinforcements after a shaky start to the season, with Liverpool conceding a concerning 17 goals in 11 league matches. With Guehi approaching the end of his contract at Crystal Palace, speculation around his future is heating up as the January window approaches.

When asked about bringing in Guehi or another centre-back, Slot emphasized that it’s not currently on his mind, though he hinted that sporting director Richard Hughes may be exploring options. Overall, the Dutch manager seems focused on stabilizing his team rather than transfer business—for now.

That said, managers often tread carefully when discussing potential signings publicly, so it’s possible Slot is at least keeping an eye on Guehi or similar targets. Liverpool’s defense has been leaking goals consistently this season, even during victories, highlighting the urgent need for a high-quality addition.

Virgil van Dijk is no longer at his peak, and Ibrahima Konate may be distracted by contract concerns at Anfield. Guehi could provide a long-term solution to strengthen the backline, though Liverpool may even require an additional centre-back to fully shore up their defense.
