Liverpool star weighing exit, “agent in talks” with three top clubs

Bayern Munich have entered discussions to sign Ibrahima Konaté on a free transfer next summer, despite strong interest from Real Madrid and PSG.

Konaté’s future has been a major topic for months, with the defender now in the final year of his Liverpool contract and potentially available for nothing at the end of the season. Although Liverpool want to extend his deal, talks have not progressed, opening the door for European giants to make a move.

As reported by Bild via SportWitness, Bayern see the French centre-back as a possible replacement for Dayot Upamecano, who is also nearing the end of his contract. While the Bavarian club would prefer to keep Upamecano, they will accelerate their pursuit of Konaté if an extension cannot be agreed.

Journalist Tobi Altschäffl confirmed Bayern’s interest, saying:

> “Breaking news: Bayern are in talks with Konaté’s camp. His contract is running down, and Bayern could sign him on a free. Konaté’s agent has spoken with Real Madrid, PSG, and Bayern. He’s a major name on the market, and Bayern are keen.”

Konaté has become a key figure at Liverpool under Arne Slot, who is pushing for the 25-year-old to sign a new long-term deal. However, convincing him will not be easy, with Bayern, PSG, and Real Madrid all actively trying to secure his signature.

PSG want to strengthen their defence with more depth and quality, while Real Madrid view Konaté as a potential successor to Antonio Rüdiger and David Alaba, whose futures remain uncertain as their contracts approach expiry.
