Liverpool are reportedly preparing to make an offer for Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo, who’s been in red-hot form this season.
After a busy summer that saw big arrivals like Alexander Isak, Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike, the Reds are expected to remain active in the transfer market. Journalist Indy Kaila suggests Liverpool plan to continue targeting high-profile signings over the next two windows.
Semenyo is believed to be one of those names. Kaila shared on X that Liverpool are monitoring the Ghana international closely, which makes sense given his outstanding Premier League performances recently and growing interest from top clubs.
It’s still unclear whether Liverpool plan to move for him in January or wait until the summer, but the 25-year-old is reportedly central to their transfer plans.
With Mohamed Salah struggling for form, Semenyo could be a huge signing. A few months ago, fitting him into Arne Slot’s attack may have seemed difficult, but Liverpool’s poor start to the season has changed the picture.
Salah, usually unstoppable, has looked low on confidence — managing just three goals and two assists in the league — while Semenyo has six goals and three assists from the same number of matches.
Player Games Goals Assists
Mohamed Salah 9 3 2
Antoine Semenyo 9 6 3
Right now, Semenyo looks like more than just a long-term successor to Salah — he appears capable of improving Liverpool’s attack immediately.
With Liverpool losing six of their last seven games in all competitions, something urgently needs to change, and Semenyo could provide the spark they’re missing.
