Oliver Glasner reveals significant injury setback for Crystal Palace before Liverpool cup match.

Oliver Glasner will be missing an important squad member for Crystal Palace’s Carabao Cup match against Liverpool tomorrow evening.

Palace head to Anfield aiming to deepen the pressure on Arne Slot’s team, who suffered their fourth straight Premier League loss against Brentford on Saturday. Palace were the side that kick-started Liverpool’s slump when they defeated the defending champions 2–1 at Selhurst Park late last month.

Glasner, who led Palace to FA Cup glory last season, has confirmed that Chris Richards will not be available for the cup tie. Richards has played every minute of Palace’s Premier League campaign so far.

“We only have one concern: Chris Richards has a minor calf problem, so he won’t be traveling with us to Liverpool tomorrow,” Glasner said (via Liverpool.com).

“Everyone else is doing well and has recovered properly. The players showed at the Emirates that they were fit and fighting for an equalizer right up until the end, so things look positive.”

Palace will hope to respond after their 1–0 loss at the Emirates and put in a stronger performance.

Jean-Philippe Mateta, Ismaila Sarr and Adam Wharton are among those who could exploit Liverpool’s fragile defense.

Liverpool haven’t kept a clean sheet since the 1–0 win over Burnley in mid-September.

Virgil van Dijk and Ibou Konaté have appeared uneasy as a partnership, while Slot is still searching for a consistent full-back setup. Milos Kerkez has struggled since joining from Bournemouth in the summer, and Jeremie Frimpong remains sidelined through injury.

It will be intriguing to see what lineup Slot chooses, as the Carabao Cup represents a strong chance for Liverpool to pick up silverware this season.
