Liverpool duo Conor Bradley and Milos Kerkez are reportedly giving Arne Slot a major headache, with Gary Neville warning that the Reds boss will keep suffering the same poor results if he continues to rely on them.
It’s been a rough spell for Liverpool, who have now lost four consecutive Premier League games. After a bright start to the season — winning their first five matches and looking like early title contenders — the Reds are now rapidly sliding down the table and risk falling out of the title race altogether.
Their latest setback came in a disappointing defeat to Brentford, a team known for inconsistency. Slot’s men once again struggled with Brentford’s physical approach and set-piece pressure, showing few signs of a turnaround.
Gary Neville: “Slot Must Drop Kerkez and Bradley”
Speaking on The Gary Neville Podcast, the former Manchester United defender didn’t hold back:
> “If he keeps playing Kerkez at left-back and Bradley at right-back, with the midfield as exposed as it is, he’ll keep getting the same results. Every week, it’ll be like flipping a coin — win or lose, you just won’t know.”
Neville believes Slot should rotate his squad to inject stability. Players like Joe Gomez or Dominik Szoboszlai could cover at right-back, while Andy Robertson is pushing to reclaim his spot on the left.
Liverpool’s next test comes in the Carabao Cup against Crystal Palace on Wednesday, before they return to league action at Anfield against Aston Villa. With injuries to Ryan Gravenberch and Alexander Isak, all eyes will be on whether Slot makes significant changes to arrest the slide.
Although Kerkez and Bradley aren’t the only ones struggling, their defensive frailties have become a growing concern — and Slot’s reluctance to alter his backline may soon force his hand.
