Chelsea close in on ex-Liverpool figure instrumental to Jurgen Klopp’s triumphs

As reported by David Ornstein of The Athletic, former Liverpool recruitment expert Dave Fallows is in advanced discussions to take up a senior sporting leadership role at Stamford Bridge.

 

Fallows is expected to oversee scouting, player development, and youth progression — key areas that align with Boehly’s long-term vision for the club.

 

Since Boehly took charge, Chelsea have invested over £1 billion in transfers, primarily targeting young prospects tipped to become future stars.

 

Bringing in Fallows would strengthen this youth-focused approach, working alongside manager Enzo Maresca, who has already started blending academy talents into the first team.

 

During his time at Liverpool, Fallows was instrumental in shaping the club’s golden era under Jurgen Klopp. In partnership with Michael Edwards, he helped establish one of football’s most effective recruitment systems.

 

He played a vital role in identifying and signing world-class players like Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Andrew Robertson, Virgil van Dijk, and Alisson Becker — all key figures in Liverpool’s Champions League and Premier League successes.

 

Fallows also pioneered the use of data-driven scouting at Anfield, helping the Reds discover undervalued players before they became global superstars.
