Major breakthrough as Liverpool confident of sealing vital agreement

The France international is entering the final year of his contract at Anfield, sparking widespread speculation about his future.

However, according to Defensa Central, Liverpool are now confident of securing a new deal for Ibrahima Konate. The report claims this development has prompted Real Madrid to shift their focus elsewhere, with Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi and Nottingham Forest’s Murillo now being considered as alternative targets.

This would be a major boost for Liverpool, as it would save them from searching for a replacement in the transfer market. Konate has formed a strong defensive partnership with Virgil van Dijk over the years, and finding a substitute for the 26-year-old would be no easy task.

While Konate would have been an excellent addition for Real Madrid, it seems the Spanish giants are losing hope of completing the deal. A free transfer would’ve been a great piece of business, but other options appear to be on the table.

Liverpool supporters will recall the disappointment of losing Trent Alexander-Arnold to Madrid after he ran down his contract earlier this year. With that in mind, some feared Konate might follow a similar path.

Still, this latest update indicates that Liverpool now have renewed optimism about keeping hold of their defens

ive star.
